Buying Used Nail Guns
If you're buying second hand you need to be a little careful about the nails that go with it and other accessories. For example you may not find nails anymore for some older nail gun model. Certain handy tips will set you along the right path to choosing the best used power nailer.
1) Make sure that the nail gun works smoothly without any hiccups, no undue recoiling takes place.
2) Most power nailers use some sort of spring mechanism, ensure that the spring hasn’t become loose, if you don’t understand much of its internal mechanism take it to a qualified repair person.
3) Try shooting one magazine or two before making up your mind, also take care that the gun doesn’t unnecessarily heat up melting your palms in turn.
4) See if any warranty is still left on the nailer, the more the better and the less the more you should bargain.
5) If you are planning to buy a used cordless nailer then check the battery life remaining cos you will need to factor in the new battery cost as well.
6) Certain brands like DeWalt, Hitachi etc have good resale value so if you are not satisfied with the product you can sell it again.
